We are honoured to have Sir John Kirwan KNZM MBE as patron of the shed. He says:
"Waihi Beach is my second home and I wholeheartedly support the Menz shed and am proud to be their patron. New Zealand has a shocking rate of declining mental health, especially in our male population, and clubs such as this support greater physical health and mental fitness." |
The Shed's focus is on camaraderie in a place of projects, making and mending for the community.
The Shed building has a kitchen and smoko area, a gathering space separate from the workshop.
The workshop is fully equipped with woodworking machines. A metalwork shed is taking shape alongside. Sheddies take very seriously the dangers and risks presented by working with machines. Have a look at the 'Safety' page to see how we ensure there will be ZERO accidents.
Waihi Beach Menz Shed Inc. is a charitable trust.
The members elect a small committee to manage the Shed, its running and its finances. Current committee members are: Chairman: Brian Baynes Treasurer: Peter Allsop Secretary: Bob Firth Members: Budgie Burgess, Graham Shirley, Keith Billington, Mike Bonnici |
